How it all began – The story of deluxebits

Even as a kid, I wanted to know how things worked on the inside. Everything got taken apart – and, in the best case, reassembled a little better than before. My path into the trades was pretty much set. I loved the physical work, the smell of the workshop and the satisfying feeling of having created something solid by the end of the day. In the industrial manufacturing that followed, I came to know precision and reliable processes. But between hard unit counts and production schedules, I quickly realised: my head needed more creative room to breathe.

I started teaching myself to code at night and on weekends. My curiosity about that endless world of code was burning bright. Small tools soon turned into my own applications, and the after-hours project eventually became self-employment as a developer. I built digital products and dove into the world of the big, international advertising agencies. Technically demanding, creatively exciting – this was where I could connect my craftsman's structural thinking perfectly with digital concepts. It was a fantastic time, in which I felt what a true calling feels like.

But as much as I loved building digital solutions, at the end of the day I would switch off the monitor – and my work was invisible. I missed the tangible. I missed the material under my fingers and the weight of a real workpiece. I wanted to use my experience from IT to create physical things again.

And that's how deluxebits was born – the bridge between bits and tangible reality. This is where my two worlds merge: digital exactness meets craftsmanship. When I calibrate the tools today, I know I'm exactly in the right place. Every product is thoughtfully designed, built to a high standard and ready to be picked up.

Today, deluxebits is my way of translating ideas from my head into reality. I want my customers not just to unpack an item, but to hold a small experience in their hands – something that tells a story of change and the courage to take new paths. Whether as a gift for someone else or for yourself: my work should leave you with a good feeling. Something that stays. Something you can touch.
